Step Into the Past and Future

Earlier this month, our Interactive Pod landed in the café and is the first of our 50th-anniversary events that will run as part of the Echoes Heritage Project. 

This project aims to capture this year in our history, discover key moments from the last 50 years that have brought us to where we are today, and look ahead to where the journey might take us. Think of it as a sort of a time machine…

Every month over the next year, new content will land in this interactive pod, featuring reflections on the Chickenshed story and unfolding moments from the five-decade projects. This will inspire those interacting with it to tell us about their Chickenshed experiences and capture this landmark year through the voices of those who are part of it.

We will be starting with our fourth-decade project, The People’s Choice. Here, people will be invited to view photos and listen to soundtracks from Christmas shows between 2004-2013 before casting their vote for what will become the Christmas Show for 2024. We will be experimenting with what the pod can offer over the next few weeks and also giving it a name. Once filled with pictures, film, oral history, and the voices of the Chickenshed community, it will hopefully be a regular touchpoint for what's going on over the 50th year and will definitely begin to feel bigger on the inside.
