Front of House Volunteer

I was eager to become more involved in community-based volunteering, so I joined Chickenshed in December 2021, and I absolutely LOVE IT!

I've had the pleasure of meeting some fantastic people, and enjoying wonderful shows, and it feels incredibly rewarding to be part of an organisation that makes such a significant difference in people's lives. As Front of House volunteers, we provide support to audience members by warmly welcoming them, answering questions, directing them to facilities, scanning tickets, and serving as fire marshals during performances.

However, we're an integral part of a diverse and multidisciplinary team, regularly interacting with performers, production, maintenance, hospitality, and administrative staff, and we all lend each other a helping hand. Over time, you get to know everyone a little better, fostering a strong sense of belonging.
