Britain's Got Talent

In 2023, Chickenshed auditioned for Britain's Got Talent...

...and what an incredible journey we had.

"For me, it's all about the love that's on that stage in front of us and everything that you represent. It was a brilliant performance."

Amanda Holden, Britain's Got Talent (ITV)

The Golden Buzzer

When Alesha pressed that buzzer, it became a moment brimming with wonder. The love, excitement, and inspiration that followed left us utterly astounded.

Today, nearly 2 million people from around the world have witnessed our Golden Buzzer moment. Our message of inclusivity has touched the hearts of young people from India to Australia, and we couldn't be prouder of our exceptional cast.

Watch the moment everyone at Chickenshed first saw the BGT Golden Buzzer Audition in our The Rayne Theatre!

It was electric.

Live Semi-Finals

Next came the live semi-finals. We performed John Legend's 'If You're Out There' after weeks of rehearsal, TV appearances and intense anticipation!

They were incredible on the night. The atmosphere was electric both in the ITV studios and at Chickenshed HQ, where a viewing party took place for everyone watching eagerly at home!

Although we didn't go through the live finals, we loved every minute of our BGT Journey and are so proud of inspiration and joy we spread, singing and dancing our hearts out on that world-famous stage!

Here are some backstage photo's from the day!

"No matter how short-lived our Britain’s Got Talent journey – we are on a long-term journey which will carry on and on. We are not giving up on celebrating our young people."

Cara McInanny, Chickenshed alumni and staff member

Watch us perform in the live semi-finals.

A journey we'll never forget.

Impact

After Britain's Got Talent, we got straight back into the rehearsal room to prepare for our summer Gala event, 'We Are Chickenshed'.

Our aim was to invite our audiences back in so they could experience in person the wonderful performances they had seen on ITV, along with new songs featuring more of Chickenshed's remarkable young talents.

This event raised a brilliant £20,028, which went into our Dare To Fund. This fund is set up to train more young people in our Peer Mentoring Program and to support additional Outreach Projects for our wider community.
